Limestone Quarry Case Study
Reedbed filtration systems for industrial use
A limestone quarry was unable to excavate further because of complaints of run-off water being polluted.
Samples were taken for passing through my test beds at home. I like to test how well my reedbeds work with any new water pollution. This “pollution” was nothing more than ground limestone, fine particulates dissolved in water. There are no problems with ammonia, nitrates phosphates, metals or other minerals.
My tests showed the following:
These results allowed the quarry to carry on excavating 62.5 million tons of limestone.
